BehaviorsLocomotion: Movement of entire body from one quadrant to another.
Stationary: No ambulatory movement for 30 seconds or more.
Climbs: Any vertical movement of one meter or more.
Paces: Three or more movements involving turning body approximately 180 degrees and retracing path.
Forages: Picking at straw with fingers.
Watches/investigates: Movement toward or eye contact with changing parts of the environment (e.g., zoo visitors, reflections of neighboring animals, incidental noises).
Picks at/touches: Non-animal contact such as peeling paint from walls and touching cage apparatus in an investigatory fashion.
Major expressive changes: Facial postural changes while looking at mate; e.g., gape threats, figure 8 yawn greetings, baring of teeth, head shrugs.
