South Pond Educational Loan Kits

Chicago teachers can bring pond lessons into their classrooms through educational loan kits developed by the zoo’s Education staff. Kits covering pond ecology, birding and water quality are available, with each containing curriculum for early childhood through high school.

Educational loan kits are free to borrow and can also be used by parents to supplement home-schooling lessons. They contain activities for both in-class lessons and site visits to the South Pond at Lincoln Park Zoo.

South Pond Educational Loan Kits have been made possible by grants from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, BP and Peoples Energy.
