chosyJulia Chosy earned her B.A. in natural sciences from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachussetts in 1993. Her senior research project examined the role of chemokine receptors in HIV in the brain. In 1999, she received an M.S. in microbiology from Duke University in North Carolina. Her master’s research involved searching for the host-cell receptor for the protective antigen of Bacillus anthracis. Julia completed her Ph.D. in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. Her dissertation focused on health correlates and consequences of victimization in chemically addicted criminal offenders.
